U-15 Mixed Doubles: Underdogs Stun Top Seeds

In a thrilling match at the WTT Youth Contender held at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex, Vivaan Dave and Naisha Rewaskar showcased remarkable composure to defeat the top-seeded duo of Aditya Das and Ankolika Chakraborty. The match, which went into extra points, concluded with scores of 13-11, 5-11, 11-7, 5-11, and 23-21, propelling Vivaan and Naisha into the U-15 mixed doubles final. They will face fellow countrymen Reyansh Jalan and Tanishka Kalbhairav, who secured their spot by overcoming Sanjay Jagdish and Myraa Sangelkar with scores of 11-3, 15-13, and 11-7 in the other semifinal.

This year's WTT Youth Contender in Vadodara features competitions across U-11 to U-19 categories, with a total of 226 participants.

U-19 Mixed Doubles: Top Seeds Advance to Final

In the U-19 mixed doubles category, the top-seeded pair of Abhinandh Pradhivadhi and Ananya Muralidharan successfully advanced to the finals, where they will compete against Sarthak Arya and Syndrela Das. Abhinandh and Ananya triumphed over Ritvik Gupta and Ahona Roy with scores of 9-11, 14-12, 11-7, and 11-8, while Sarthak and Syndrela defeated Sahil Rawat and Hardee Patel with scores of 11-6, 12-10, 5-11, and 11-5.

Dramatic Comeback in Thrilling Decider

One of the most exciting matches of the day occurred during the morning session, where Vivaan and Naisha displayed incredible resilience. They initially trailed 5-8 in the opening game but managed to save a game point and ultimately won the first game. The subsequent three games were fiercely contested, leading to a nail-biting decider. Aditya and Ankolika surged ahead with a 4-0 lead and even held three match points at 10-7. However, Vivaan and Naisha demonstrated their fighting spirit by saving those match points and leveling the score each time before clinching four consecutive points to secure their victory.
