This operation was conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The joint operation in the Imam Sahib area of Shopian involved the 44 RR, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the 178 Battalion of the CRPF. Previous Arrests in the Region

Earlier, on August 19, a joint operation by the Indian Army's 34 RR, SOG Shopian, and the 178 Battalion of the CRPF led to the arrest of two terrorist associates in the D.K. Pora area of Shopian. During this operation, two pistols, four grenades, 43 live rounds, and other incriminating materials were also seized. The Shopian police confirmed that an FIR was filed and further investigations are ongoing.
