Two Government School Graduates Excel in Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Exam

Remarkable Achievements in Public Education

Shimla: A remarkable testament to the efficacy of the public school system has emerged as two young women, both educated exclusively in government institutions, have excelled in the Himachal Pradesh Administrative and Allied Services examinations. Their achievements highlight how perseverance and discipline can lead to success despite limited resources.

Megha Singh Kanwar, hailing from the Haati area in Sirmaur district, has achieved the top rank in the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) examination. Following closely is Aanchal Ghunta from the Nerwa subdivision in Shimla district, who secured the second position and has been appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). This accomplishment is a source of pride for alumni of government schools throughout the state.

Government Schools as a Launchpad for Success

Megha, a resident of Khaniyud village in the Giripar-Pajhota region, is the daughter of Narendra and Anita Kanwar. She began her education at a government school in Shaya Sanaura, completed her Class XII at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nahan, and later graduated from Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni. By achieving the top rank in HPAS based solely on merit, she has showcased the potential of public education in nurturing talent from remote areas.

Similarly, Aanchal Ghunta, from Ghuntari village in Garha panchayat of Nerwa tehsil, completed her schooling up to Class XII at Shaheed Shyam Singh Government Senior Secondary School. She later earned a BSc degree from Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry. Currently, she serves as an excise inspector in Kandaghat, having previously passed the allied services examination.

Success Through Self-Study and Determination

Both Megha and Aanchal primarily relied on self-study, managing household duties alongside rigorous preparation. Their stories exemplify the power of persistence over privilege, demonstrating that strong academic foundations from government schools can lead to success without the need for coaching.

In response to her achievement, Megha emphasized that hard work and consistency were crucial in passing the exam. She expressed her commitment to serving the community with integrity and dedication. Aanchal shared similar thoughts, noting that relentless effort and belief in oneself were vital in overcoming the challenges faced during her preparation.
