Arrests Made in North 24 Parganas
In the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, law enforcement officials have apprehended two drug traffickers from Bangladesh. Authorities seized 10 kilograms of cannabis, 100 bottles of prohibited cough syrup, and a knife from the suspects. This information was disclosed by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday.
According to a statement from the BSF, the incident occurred late Thursday night around 1:50 AM at the Tarali border outpost, where a confrontation took place with a group of three to four Bangladeshi traffickers, resulting in injuries to one BSF personnel.
The statement further elaborated that the soldiers from the 143 Battalion, while patrolling the Tarali-1 outpost, had to fire several warning shots into the air for self-defense as the suspects continued to challenge them.
The BSF reported that two members of the trafficking group were captured and taken to the outpost for questioning, while two others managed to escape. A BSF spokesperson mentioned that despite repeated flag meetings with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to address issues of illegal infiltration and attacks by Bangladeshi criminals, no substantial action has been taken by them so far. He affirmed that BSF personnel are fully capable of securing the borders and protecting the nation under all circumstances.
