Two Arrested for Theft at North Delhi Temple
Theft Incident at Mahakali Shiv Temple
The Delhi Police recently apprehended two individuals in connection with the theft of idols and brass worship items from a temple located in the Burari area of North Delhi. Authorities confirmed the arrests on Friday.
The suspects have been identified as Dalip Kumar, aged 38, and Rahees Malik, a scrap dealer from JJ Colony in Shakurpur, aged 47. Police recovered the stolen items from their possession.
The theft occurred on July 27 at the Mahakali Shiv Temple in Burari. According to the priest, Kamal Shastri, he had left the temple after the morning prayers and discovered upon his return that several idols and brass items used for worship had been stolen. Following a review of the local CCTV footage, the police were able to track down and arrest the suspects.
