New Developments in Twisha Sharma's Alleged Dowry Death Case

The case surrounding Twisha Sharma's alleged dowry death has taken a significant turn, as her family and legal representatives accuse investigative agencies of compromising the inquiry and influencing procedures at AIIMS Bhopal to undermine the case. Ankur Pandey, the lawyer representing the victim's family, claimed that officials are attempting to 'contaminate' both the medical examination process and the investigation itself, demanding a second autopsy at AIIMS Delhi. Pandey stated that the incident occurred on May 12, and since then, the investigative bodies have been manipulating the case. They are allegedly trying to interfere with the processes at AIIMS Bhopal to weaken the case for their benefit later on.

He emphasized that the autopsy was conducted on May 13, yet the final rites (ligature) were not obtained, a claim made by AIIMS itself. He questioned why AIIMS did not request the ligature, noting that the victim's family is under pressure to conduct the final rites. If this were to happen, how would the ligature collected days after the incident be matched? The condition of the body is deteriorating daily, and AIIMS has stated that they lack the facilities to preserve the body for an extended period. However, such circumstances have arisen solely due to the influence of the accused. Therefore, we have requested that the autopsy be conducted at AIIMS Delhi, where we believe all necessary facilities for proper preservation are available.

The lawyer further stated that only medical experts can provide insights into the matter, and their sole aim is to uncover the truth regarding any marks or injuries found on the body, whether they occurred before death, how they were inflicted, and their precise nature. Pandey also expressed concern over discrepancies in Twisha Sharma's recorded height. He alleged that there is a significant difference between the height listed in AIIMS Bhopal's records and her modeling profile and personal statements. Regarding her height, he mentioned that she had modeled and had stated her height to be approximately 172 to 173 centimeters, while AIIMS recorded it as 161 centimeters. This discrepancy raises questions about why such a fundamental detail is being inaccurately documented, suggesting that the investigation is being misdirected.
