Trump to Address UNGA: Focus on American Strengths and Global Peace
Trump's Upcoming Speech at the UN General Assembly
President Donald Trump is poised to deliver a significant address at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday. His speech will emphasize the 'renewal of American strength globally' during his leadership. Trump is anticipated to discuss the 'historic achievements' made in the initial eight months of his second term, which he claims include the resolution of seven international conflicts.
In a recent press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, 'Tomorrow morning, President Trump will present a major speech highlighting the renewal of American strengths worldwide and his historic accomplishments in just eight months, including the conclusion of seven global wars and conflicts.'
Leavitt further mentioned that Trump's address will critique how 'globalist institutions have significantly undermined the world order,' as he outlines his 'clear and constructive vision' for fostering global peace and cooperation. During the UNGA, Trump is scheduled to meet with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, along with leaders from Ukraine, Argentina, and the European Union. Additionally, he will convene a group meeting with representatives from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.
'The President will also discuss the decline of globalist institutions and articulate his straightforward vision for the world. He will host bilateral meetings with the UN Secretary-General and the leaders of Ukraine, Argentina, and the European Union, followed by a multilateral meeting later in the day with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan,' Leavitt added.
This 80th General Assembly marks Trump's return to the session, where he is expected to underscore his administration's focus on unilateral American power, despite the US stepping back from many traditional leadership roles within the global framework. This will be Trump's fifth address at the UN General Assembly, having previously spoken at the session multiple times during his first term from 2017 to 2021.
