Trump's Stance on Iran Ceasefire

Donald Trump has indicated that extending the ceasefire with Iran is 'highly unlikely' unless a deal is finalized, as reported by Bloomberg. The current ceasefire, which has been in effect for two weeks, is set to end on Wednesday, April 23. This announcement comes just before the anticipated second round of US-Iran discussions in Islamabad, scheduled for tomorrow. While Trump confirmed that a US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance is on its way to Pakistan, Iran has yet to confirm its attendance at the upcoming talks, citing concerns about trust with Washington.

Vice President Vance's Trip to Pakistan

According to an interview with Trump in the New York Post, Vice President JD Vance, along with special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, is traveling to Pakistan to engage in negotiations regarding the Iran conflict. Trump stated, “They’re heading over now. They’ll be there tonight.” However, it remains uncertain whether Vance is indeed en route, as administration officials have not confirmed his current status or location.
