Trump Promises to Restore Order in Los Angeles Amid Migrant Protests

Trump's Commitment to Los Angeles

On Sunday, President Donald Trump declared that he would ensure 'Los Angeles will be set free' and that 'order will be restored.' He instructed Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi to 'take all necessary actions' to 'liberate Los Angeles from the migrant invasion' and to put an end to the 'migrant riots.' This announcement came in response to protests that erupted following raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, which resulted in the arrest of numerous undocumented immigrants. Additionally, Trump has deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to help maintain order during these demonstrations.

Trump's Stance on Illegal Immigration

In a post on his 'Truth Social' account, Trump expressed alarm over the protests and the mobs that attacked federal agents attempting to carry out deportations. He reiterated his hardline approach to illegal immigration, stating that Los Angeles, once a 'great American city,' has been overrun by illegal immigrants and criminals. 'Violent, insurrectionist mobs are attacking our federal agents to halt deportation efforts, but these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve,' he wrote.

Trump emphasized that he has instructed the relevant department heads to take decisive actions to free Los Angeles from what he termed a migrant invasion. He firmly asserted that illegal immigrants would be expelled and the riots quelled.

'I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, along with all pertinent Departments and Agencies, to take all necessary actions to liberate Los Angeles from the migrant invasion and end these riots. Order will be restored, the illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free. Thank you for your attention to this matter!' he added.

California Governor Criticizes Federal Actions

While Trump ordered the deployment of National Guard troops, California Governor Gavin Newsom criticized the federal response, labeling it 'purposefully inflammatory' and cautioning that such actions could undermine 'public trust.'
