In a recent interview, US President Donald Trump expressed his support for Argentina in the upcoming World Cup final against Spain, stating that it is "difficult to bet against Messi." Trump, who is set to present the trophy to the winning team, shared his thoughts during a conversation with Fox Sports prior to the match. When asked about his prediction, he mentioned that he had anticipated the question and had given it significant consideration.

He praised Argentine President Javier Milei, calling him "a friend" and commending his leadership. Trump highlighted that Argentina's success largely hinges on Lionel Messi's performance. He recalled Messi's impressive assist during Argentina's semi-final win over England, noting, "If you had a strike zone, it was exactly where it had to be." Trump remarked on Messi's ability to evade defenders, emphasizing his exceptional skills.

When asked if Messi is the greatest footballer ever, Trump refrained from making a definitive statement, acknowledging his admiration for both Messi and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as his memories of watching Brazilian legend Pelé.
