Trump Issues Strong Warning to Iran Amid Ongoing Tensions
Trump's Stark Warning to Iran
President Donald Trump of the United States has delivered a serious warning to Iran, stating that the US is ready to entirely dismantle the nation's infrastructure "in a small part of an afternoon" if a diplomatic agreement is not achieved. Trump emphasized, "We're going to win one way or the other. We're going to make a deal or we're going to finish the job, okay. And it won't be tough to finish the job." He expressed a preference for reaching a deal with Iran, noting that he does not wish to "affect 91 million people."
Trump elaborated on the military capabilities, saying, "We can knock down their bridges in one hour. We can knock out their energy supply. We can knock out their electricity and power generating plants. And I would say in a small part of an afternoon, every plant will be gone. And they know that."
Discussing the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, Trump remarked, "Three weeks ago, in one night, 22 ships came out of the Strait. The famous Strait of Hormuz, nobody ever heard of it before, but it's a huge money machine. We took out so much oil that people didn't even realize it."
These comments from Trump come as US-Iran negotiations are currently stalled due to the funeral ceremonies for the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader of Iran. Reacting to the funeral, Trump expressed surprise at the large turnout, stating, "I was shocked. I thought people hated him," and later added, "Maybe it's fake tears," after witnessing mourners at the ceremonies.
In a controversial statement, Trump mentioned, "They are all there. One shot [and we can take them all out], but we are not going to do that because then we would have nobody to negotiate with." He indicated that neither side would initiate attacks during the funeral period.
Iran responded strongly to Trump's "one shot" comment, with the Iranian Embassy in Armenia stating: "People can be killed, but ideals cannot. You killed Ayatollah Khamenei, but in reality, you broke a perfume bottle whose scent spread everywhere." The post further asserted, "You don't understand these things because you have neither civilization, nor history, nor honor."
