Trump Issues Stark Warning to Iran Amid Escalating Tensions
Trump's Threat to Iran
In light of the escalating conflict in the Middle East, President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Saturday, stating that 1,000 missiles are "locked and loaded" and targeted at the nation. He cautioned Tehran that any attempt on his life would provoke a significant military retaliation. This statement followed the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during which there were public calls for his assassination.
On his platform, Truth Social, Trump declared, "1,000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands more ready to follow immediately if the Iranian Government acts on its threats to assassinate the sitting President of the United States, which is me!" He further emphasized that the US military is prepared to execute orders to completely obliterate various regions of Iran for a duration of one year, with the possibility of extension.
Trump's remarks came shortly after he indicated that he had set in motion plans for a substantial military response should Iran succeed in any assassination attempt against him, warning of unprecedented consequences. In a prior interview with a media outlet, he stated, "I've left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they've never seen before."
