Trump Announces Iran's Agreement on Oil Ship Passage
Iran's Oil Ship Passage Agreement
President Donald Trump of the United States announced that Iran has agreed to allow 20 oil vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz over the next few days, starting from Monday morning. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday night, Trump stated, "I will just say that there has been significant progress in the discussions, but one can never fully trust Iran. We engage in talks, and then situations take turns that compel us to respond with force."
Response to Ceasefire Proposal
When asked about Iran's response to the proposed 15-point ceasefire plan from the U.S., Trump confirmed, "Yes, we have received a response. They have agreed to most of the points. Why wouldn't they?" He further added, "They are aligning with our plan." Additionally, Trump claimed that Iran's new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, is likely alive but is evidently in a precarious situation, stating, "He is severely injured."
