Trump Announces Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran After 12-Day Conflict

On Monday, President Donald Trump of the United States declared a 'complete and total' ceasefire between Israel and Iran, set to commence in about six hours. In a message shared on Truth Social, Trump indicated that both nations have reached an agreement, which he believes will significantly reduce the ongoing hostilities in the region.

Trump expressed his congratulations, stating, 'It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!' He noted that Iran would initiate the ceasefire, followed by Israel, leading to a total halt in fighting within the next 24 hours. He urged both nations to maintain a 'peaceful and respectful' demeanor during the overlapping ceasefire periods.

He further elaborated, 'Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL.'

Trump praised both countries for their resolve, stating, 'On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.” This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!'

He concluded with a blessing, saying, 'God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!' The conflict erupted on June 13 when Israel executed a significant airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear installations, dubbed 'Operation Rising Lion.' In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale drone and missile operation named 'Operation True Promise 3,' targeting Israeli fuel production and energy facilities.

Tensions heightened further when the US carried out precision airstrikes early Sunday on three critical Iranian nuclear sites under 'Operation Midnight Hammer.' Iran retaliated by firing missiles at US military bases in Qatar and Iraq, including the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military installation in the region.
