Trump Announces Ceasefire Agreement Between India and Pakistan

Ceasefire Agreement Announced
On Saturday, President Donald Trump of the United States declared that India and Pakistan have reached a consensus for a "full and immediate ceasefire" following discussions facilitated by his administration.
Trump shared the news on social media, stating, "After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both countries for exercising common sense and intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
However, there has been no official response from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs or the Ministry of Defence regarding this announcement.
This development was confirmed by Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
Recent tensions between the two nations escalated after the Indian military conducted strikes, known as Operation Sindoor, targeting what it described as terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.
In response, the Pakistan Army has been shelling Indian villages along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in civilian casualties.
On Thursday, Indian armed forces reported that they had thwarted attempts by Pakistan to deploy drones and missiles against military sites in various towns and cities. That evening, India claimed to have repelled multiple drone attacks along the western border.
Earlier on Saturday, New Delhi accused the Pakistani military of targeting medical facilities and schools at three air bases in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting the Indian military to retaliate by striking military targets in Pakistan.
This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
