Tripura Chief Minister Unveils Plans for Major Healthcare Investment
Foundation Stone Laid for New Super Specialty Hospital
Agartala, Nov 5: On Wednesday, Chief Minister Manik Saha initiated the construction of a private super specialty hospital worth Rs 900 crore in RK Nagar, located approximately 20 kilometers from Agartala.
During the ceremony, Saha announced that the state has allocated 28 acres for the Shija hospital project. He also mentioned that the Shija Hospitals group from Manipur is considering establishing a medical college in Tripura.
"We are committed to supporting investors interested in Tripura. This initiative will enhance healthcare services and create numerous job opportunities for the local population," stated the Chief Minister.
He emphasized that only reputable institutions with established success records are being entrusted with such projects, and a robust monitoring system is in place to ensure the project's timely advancement.
The Chief Minister noted that a new ring road around Agartala will improve access to the hospital for both patients and healthcare workers.
Additionally, he shared that a group from Silchar is interested in building a cancer hospital in Tripura, which the government has welcomed. The state capital will also see the construction of a new flyover and a 'Unity Mall' to boost infrastructure and commerce.
"Tripura is on a rapid development path," the CM declared, highlighting that during a recent business summit in Guwahati, investors pledged Rs 30,000 crore for the North Eastern region, with Rs 15,000 crore specifically allocated for Tripura.
Saha expressed confidence in the state's future, stating, "Tripura will soon undergo a significant transformation and become a model state once the six major tourist destinations are completed."
