Trinamool Congress Leader Shot in Cooch Behar District

In Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, a leader from the Trinamool Congress was shot by unidentified assailants, resulting in injuries. This information was confirmed by police on Friday.
According to police reports, Raju Dey, the head of the Panchayat Samiti in Cooch Behar Block-2, was attacked around 11 PM on Thursday near the Jhinidanga area.
A police official stated that the bullet struck the leader in his right shoulder, after which party members rushed him to a nearby hospital. His condition is currently reported to be stable.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Authorities mentioned that the attackers arrived in a vehicle, which they abandoned while fleeing, and this vehicle has been seized. The ruling Trinamool Congress party has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) orchestrated the attack. However, the BJP has dismissed these claims, attributing the incident to internal conflicts within the Trinamool Congress.
