New Delhi, Aug 6: On Thursday, leaders from the BJP paid heartfelt tributes to the late Sushma Swaraj, commemorating her significant impact on Indian diplomacy, parliamentary practices, and public service.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his respects, stating, "Today, we remember Sushma Swaraj, a gifted orator and a compassionate leader who served as External Affairs Minister and was honored with the 'Padma Vibhushan'. She viewed her service to the nation as a sacred duty and held public welfare in high regard, always prioritizing India's honor."
He added, "Her life is a testament to her dedication to the nation, public service, and the dignity of democratic values."
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar shared his thoughts on social media platform 'X', saying, "Today, we fondly remember Sushma Swaraj ji on her Punya Tithi. Her grace, warmth, and presence are profoundly missed."
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also took to 'X', stating, "Remembering the esteemed parliamentarian and former External Affairs Minister, Padma Vibhushan Hon. Sushma Swaraj Ji, on her SmrutiDin."
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi reflected on her contributions, saying, "On her death anniversary, we remember Padma Vibhushan awardee and former External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj Ji. A leader of exceptional conviction and compassion, she blended strength with humility, dedicating her life to the nation. Her remarkable contributions to Indian diplomacy and public life are held in high esteem. We pay humble tributes to a leader whose legacy endures."
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy remarked, "Humble tributes to former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Smt. Sushma Swaraj Ji, on her Punyatithi. An outstanding parliamentarian and eloquent speaker, she devoted her life to public service with unwavering commitment. Known affectionately as 'Telangana Chinnamma', her support during the formation of Telangana will always be cherished by its people."

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid her respects, stating, "A humble tribute to the esteemed former Union Minister and Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sushma Swaraj ji, on her death anniversary."
She noted, "Her strong connection with the people of Delhi, her warm demeanor, and her ability to empathize with individuals made her an extraordinary leader. Whether as Chief Minister or External Affairs Minister, she approached every role with a spirit of service and human values. For any Indian in distress globally, a message from her was a source of comfort and assurance."
