The Spanish Men's National Football Team shared this poignant moment on social media, expressing their condolences to those impacted by the disaster. Their official post stated, "Respectful minute of silence at the Los Angeles stadium to honor the victims of the Almeria fires. Rest in peace."

Tragic Wildfire in Andalusia

A devastating wildfire in southern Spain's Andalusia region has resulted in the loss of at least 11 lives, with 19 individuals still unaccounted for and approximately 600 residents displaced. The Regional Government of Andalusia reported that the fire, which ignited in Los Gallardos, has affected several municipalities including Bedar and Antas. Authorities are actively engaged in firefighting efforts, particularly as wind conditions pose additional challenges.

The government confirmed the death toll stands at 11, correcting earlier figures that suggested 12 fatalities. Currently, around 600 individuals have been forced to evacuate their homes, with 120 residents evacuated overnight from various neighborhoods, including Almocaizar and Fuente del Albarico. Evacuees are being housed in local theaters, with 74 individuals at the Lubrin theatre and another 74 at the Garrucha theatre.

Public Safety Measures Urged by Authorities

Antonio Sanz Cabello, the Minister of the Presidency, Health and Emergencies in Andalusia, has urged residents to adhere strictly to safety directives during this emergency. He emphasized the importance of following official instructions, stating, "In an emergency, the authorities' instructions are not recommendations: they are designed to protect lives. If evacuation or confinement is ordered, do so immediately and follow the established routes." Sanz also expressed gratitude to emergency responders and public agencies for their coordinated efforts in combating the wildfire.
