Guwahati, June 22: A two-day training session for the newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) is set to take place on July 4 and 5 at the Gopinath Bordoloi Bhavan within the Assam Legislative Assembly.
Approximately 47 MLAs are anticipated to participate in this training, which will cover the Assembly's rules, procedures, and overall operations.
Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass stated, “With 47 new MLAs who are not yet familiar with the Assembly's operational procedures, we deemed it essential to arrange a training program for them. The sessions will occur on July 4 and 5.”
He also mentioned that veteran legislators are encouraged to join the training.
“Anyone interested in attending is welcome at Gopinath Bordoloi Bhavan. The training will encompass various topics, including Points of Order, Special Mentions, and other legislative processes. Given the complexity of legislative operations, the program is divided into two sessions,” Dass explained.
Several notable figures have been invited to contribute to the training sessions.
“We have extended invitations to Dr. Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Chancellor of Nagaland University, former Deputy Speaker Dr. Numal Momin, and other distinguished guests for this training initiative,” he added.
The two-day camp is expected to include presentations from invited experts and former legislators on various facets of legislative work.
