Tragic Violence Erupts in West Bengal Amid Waqf Act Protests


In a tragic incident in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, two individuals lost their lives due to violent confrontations reportedly connected to ongoing protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, as stated by an IPS officer on Saturday.


The deceased, identified as a father and son, were discovered with numerous stab wounds inside their residence in Jafrabad, situated in the conflict-ridden Samserganj region.


The officer reported that both victims were found unresponsive at their home and were pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.


Family members of the victims claimed that intruders had ransacked their home and fatally attacked the two before fleeing the scene.


Additionally, another individual was injured by a gunshot in Dhulian, also within the Samserganj block, earlier that same day.


Significant violence erupted on Friday in the Suti and Samserganj areas during protests concerning the Waqf (Amendment) Act.
