Tragic Vehicle Collision Claims Life in Andhra Pradesh
Fatal Accident in Prakasam District
Amaravati, Dec 31: A tragic incident occurred in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a man due to a vehicle collision.
Authorities reported that a Bolero vehicle was engulfed in flames after crashing into an unidentified vehicle on the Nandyal-Amaravati highway. The driver was unable to escape and perished in the fire, while another passenger sustained injuries.
The collision took place near Rangareddypalle village in Racharla mandal at approximately 5:45 a.m.
As per police reports, the Bolero, which was transporting cashew nuts from Tuni to Anantapur, collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction, leading to the fire.
Fire services were alerted by bystanders and quickly arrived with a fire engine to extinguish the flames.
The deceased has been identified as Swamy, aged 50. The injured passenger, Kandipalli Jayarami Reddy, was transported to a government hospital in Giddalur.
Law enforcement has opened an investigation into the incident and is working to locate the vehicle involved in the collision.
In a separate incident in neighboring Telangana, several passengers were injured when a private travel bus collided with a truck on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway near Narketpally in Nalgonda district. The bus was en route to Hyderabad, and the injured individuals have been admitted to a nearby private hospital.
This accident caused significant traffic congestion, prompting police to respond and clear the roadway.
Additionally, in Hyderabad, a home guard was injured in a hit-and-run incident at a traffic signal in the IT hub of Madhapur. A speeding car struck the home guard, identified as Nayeem, aged 45, before fleeing the scene. He has since been hospitalized, and police are investigating to identify the vehicle and its owner.
