Tragic Truck Accident Claims Life in Himachal Pradesh

Chamba: An unfortunate road accident transpired early on Friday morning (July 4, 2025) near Chaned along the Pathankot-Bharmaur National Highway in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh. A truck carrying tiles and marble veered off the road and fell into a gorge approximately 200 feet deep.
The driver, who was also the truck's owner, tragically lost his life at the scene. He has been identified as Ramswaroop, the son of Pemaram, hailing from Swantasar in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Witnesses, including nearby villagers, reported hearing a loud crash and quickly rushed to the accident site. They found the truck submerged in a stream at the gorge's base, with the driver trapped inside.
Villagers worked together to extricate him from the wreckage, but he was severely injured. They promptly notified the police, who arrived and transported the unconscious driver to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Initial investigations indicated that Ramswaroop was en route to Chamba to deliver a load of tiles and construction materials. He was reportedly driving the truck himself at the time of the accident. Chamba's Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Yadav, confirmed the details of the incident.
