Fatal Incident in Bengaluru

A tragic event unfolded in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where a man lost his life after a tree fell on him while he was riding his motorcycle. This unfortunate accident occurred due to strong winds that uprooted multiple trees throughout the city, with the tree that caused the fatality being one of them.


Injuries to Pillion Rider

The motorcycle had a pillion rider who also suffered injuries and was subsequently hospitalized for medical care.


Hospitalization Details

Both individuals were transported to St John's Hospital, where the rider succumbed to his injuries, while the pillion rider continued to receive treatment.


Location of the Incident

Reports indicate that the incident occurred in the Koramangala area. CCTV footage captured the moment when the tree unexpectedly fell onto the motorcycle, causing both riders to crash to the ground.


Electrocution Tragedy

In a separate incident on May 20, two individuals in Bengaluru tragically died from electrocution, as confirmed by officials. This incident followed a period of heavy rainfall in the city.


The victims were identified as 63-year-old Manmohan Kamath, a resident of Madhuvan Apartments in NS Palya, and 12-year-old Dinesh, the son of a Nepalese national living in BTM Second Stage Dollars Colony.


According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sarah Fathima, Kamath was electrocuted while attempting to connect a motor to drain water from the basement of his apartment.


Government Response

In light of these incidents, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are scheduled to conduct a city-wide inspection on May 21.
