On Tuesday, a tragic incident occurred near the Jayaram Nagar station in Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh, where a passenger train collided with a freight train, resulting in at least four fatalities and numerous injuries. Initial reports indicate that the collision involved a local passenger train traveling from Korba to Bilaspur. Sanjay Agrawal, the district collector, confirmed the deaths and mentioned that the number of casualties could rise.

Footage from the scene shows the first coach of the Korba passenger train atop the freight train due to the impact. Many bystanders gathered at the site as officials conducted rescue operations.
