Tragic Train Accident Claims Life of Young Man in Balasore

In a tragic incident on Saturday afternoon, a 31-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a train near the Balasore railway station. The victim, identified as Deepak Panigrahi from Haripur Begunia, was reportedly engaged in a video call while crossing the railway tracks.

According to police reports, Panigrahi was walking along Malgodown road and attempted to cross the tracks towards Fandi Square while still on the call. At that moment, the East Coast Express, bound for Hyderabad, had just left the station.

It is believed that the headphones prevented Panigrahi from hearing the train's horn, leading to the fatal accident. Authorities from the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrived promptly after being notified, recovered the body, and arranged for a post-mortem examination. An unnatural death case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
