Fatal Incident in Anuppur District


Anuppur (MP): A tragic accident in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district resulted in the deaths of six individuals and left 40 others injured when a tractor-trolley overturned, according to police reports on Saturday.


The incident took place near Bijaura village, under the jurisdiction of the Karanpathar police station, on Friday evening, as confirmed by an official.


Approximately 50 passengers were aboard the tractor-trolley when the driver lost control, leading to the vehicle's overturning, stated Additional Superintendent of Police Jagannath Markam.


The group was en route from Padmania to Bijaura village to participate in a puja ceremony.


Two individuals died at the scene, while four others later succumbed to their injuries during medical treatment. The injured are currently receiving care at the Pali community health center and a medical college in Umaria district.


Expressing his sorrow over the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav remarked, "The news of the untimely deaths and injuries resulting from a road accident in Bijaura village, involving a tractor-trolley carrying devotees to a temple, is profoundly distressing. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving families."


In response to the tragedy, the state government has pledged financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to each family affected by the fatalities.
