Dr. Alaa Najjar, a pediatrician at Nasser Hospital, was on duty when an airstrike struck her residence in Khan Younis. She hurried home to find her house engulfed in flames, as recounted by Dr. Ahmad al-Farra, head of the hospital's pediatric department.
Dr. Farra reported that Dr. Najjar's husband sustained severe injuries, and their only surviving child, an 11-year-old boy, is in critical condition. Tragically, children aged between seven months and 12 years were among the deceased, with two still trapped under the debris, according to Khalil Al-Dokran, a spokesperson for Gaza's Health Ministry.
