Tragic Suicide of Haryana Farmer Highlights Emotional Abuse and Extortion

A Heartbreaking Incident in Rohtak

In a tragic incident in the Rohtak district of Haryana, a young farmer named Magan took his own life after enduring relentless torment from his wife and her lover. He left behind emotional video messages that unveiled a harrowing tale of betrayal, emotional manipulation, and financial exploitation.

Magan led a modest life and was married to Divya for approximately a year and a half. His world was shattered when he learned that Divya had a previous husband and a child. Rather than opting for legal action, he decided to take a noble approach by compensating Divya's first husband to facilitate a divorce, allowing him to marry her.

Unfortunately, this decision did not bring him peace. Magan later found out that Divya was involved in an affair with a police officer named Deepak, stationed in Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad. In his final recordings, he revealed that both Divya and Deepak had been harassing him for money, with Deepak allegedly demanding Rs 5 lakh for a promotion, using Divya as leverage.

Magan recounted, “I sold wheat I had cultivated myself and handed over Rs 1.5 lakh.” He also mentioned pawning his gold bangle on June 9 to gather Rs 2 lakh, which Divya supposedly transferred to Deepak’s account. However, their financial demands only escalated.

He claimed they subsequently pressured him for another Rs 1.5 lakh and even threatened him regarding his ancestral land. The final blow came when Divya allegedly sent him a video of her dancing closely with Deepak, which plunged him into deep despair.

On June 18, Magan shared two poignant video messages on social media, explicitly naming Divya and Deepak while pleading for justice. He addressed his adopted sister, social worker Savita Arya, stating: “Sister, when women cry, we listen even if they are wrong. But for men, even when they are right, we let them suffer in silence. Please let us hear men too.”
