Tragic Suicide in Madhya Pradesh Linked to Unrequited Love

Investigation into the Silondi Suicide Case
A tragic incident has unfolded in the Silondi area of Katni district, Madhya Pradesh, where a young man reportedly took his own life due to unreciprocated feelings. The investigation by local authorities revealed that the individual, identified as 24-year-old Rohit Chakraborty, ended his life after his love interest declined his marriage proposal. His body was discovered hanging from a tree on June 6, prompting police to initiate an inquiry.
According to Mohammad Shahid Khan, the officer in charge at Dheemarkheda police station, the investigation commenced immediately after they received the report. Rohit, who resided in Pindari and worked as a driver, had been in a romantic relationship with a girl from a nearby village. However, she was not interested in marrying him, which led to a confrontation between the two.
On the day of the incident, a heated argument occurred at the Silondi bus stand, necessitating police involvement. During questioning, the girl made it clear that she did not wish to marry Rohit. Devastated by her response, he tragically decided to take his own life using her dupatta.
In a disturbing twist, it was revealed that Rohit's father, Bal Govind Chakraborty, had previously been convicted for the murder of his wife in 2013-14 and is currently serving time in prison. Rohit was the couple's only son, and his death has left the family in deep sorrow.
