Tragic Suicide Bombing in Pakistan Claims Lives and Injures Many
Devastating Attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Peshawar: A suicide bombing in northwest Pakistan has resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals, including two members of the security forces, while injuring 35 others, according to police reports.
The tragic event took place in the Lakki Marwat district, located within the troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to a District Police official, the attacker detonated an explosive-laden auto rickshaw at Phattak Chowk in Naurang Bazar.
Among the deceased are two traffic police officers and a woman, with officials confirming that 35 individuals sustained injuries and were transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Sarai Naurang for medical attention.
Several victims in critical condition were subsequently referred to hospitals in Bannu and Peshawar for advanced care.
In response to the incident, an emergency was declared at local hospitals, and all available medical personnel were summoned.
Rescue teams and ambulances were dispatched to the scene to assist with relief efforts, as stated by Rescue 1122 spokesperson Shahdab Khan.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Chief Minister Muhammad Suhail Afridi expressed his condolences regarding the bombing and instructed the Inspector General of Police to provide a comprehensive report on the situation.
He stated, 'We stand with the bereaved families during this challenging time, and the provincial government will offer all possible assistance to them.'
