President Murmu's Response to the Tragedy

In a heartfelt message, President Droupadi Murmu expressed her sorrow regarding the tragic incident that occurred during a rally in Tamil Nadu, which resulted in numerous fatalities. She conveyed her condolences to the families affected by this unfortunate event.

The stampede, which took place at a rally hosted by actor and politician Vijay in Karur, led to the deaths of 29 individuals, as reported by the state's Health Minister, Ma Subramanian. He confirmed that 29 people were declared dead upon arrival at medical facilities, with over 45 others receiving treatment for their injuries.

In her statement shared on social media platform X, President Murmu stated, "I am deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of lives in the stampede-like incident in Karur district of Tamil Nadu. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and wish for a swift recovery for those injured."
