A tragic incident occurred at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) victory parade, resulting in the deaths of at least seven individuals and injuries to over 50 others. Reports indicate that several cricket fans fainted while gathering for a special celebration marking RCB's first IPL title win. According to local news sources, the chaos erupted near Gate Number 1 of the stadium. Prior to the event, RCB players had visited the state assembly, where they were honored by the Chief Minister. Many fans were present at the event, but police had to transport injured and fainted individuals to nearby hospitals. No official confirmation of the injuries was available immediately. In a separate development, the Karnataka government honored the Royal Challengers Bangalore team for winning their first IPL title, ending an 18-year wait for the prestigious trophy. The team, led by Rajat Patidar, was recognized by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at the grand steps of the Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature and secretariat. During the ceremony, the team received traditional Mysore peta (a ceremonial turban), shawls, and garlands. A large crowd gathered to witness the event, and the team is also expected to participate in a program organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Academy at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
