Tragic Stabbing Incident at Michigan Walmart Leaves 11 Injured

New York: A stabbing incident at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, has resulted in injuries to at least 11 individuals.
The attack occurred around 4:45 p.m. local time on Saturday when a 42-year-old man entered the store and began stabbing customers with a folding knife, according to Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea.
The assailant is now in custody, and authorities believe the attack was random in nature.
As of Saturday evening, three victims were reported to be undergoing surgery at Munson Medical Centre, with five individuals in serious condition and six in critical condition, as stated by Munson Healthcare.
Authorities have advised the public to steer clear of the area while the investigation is ongoing, as reported by a news agency.
Earlier, the Michigan State Police confirmed that the suspect had been apprehended. Sheriff Shea indicated that the suspect is likely a resident of Michigan but withheld additional details.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer expressed her condolences, stating, "Our thoughts are with the victims and the community reeling from this brutal act of violence."
Walmart released a statement affirming its commitment to cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation.
"Violence like this is unacceptable. Our thoughts are with those who were injured, and we’re thankful for the swift action of first responders," the statement read.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino mentioned on social media that the bureau is responding to provide necessary support.
