Tragic Shooting Incident in Pilibhit: Teacher Found Dead
Shooting Incident in Narayanpur Village
In Narayanpur village, located in the Puranpur police jurisdiction of Pilibhit, a young teacher was discovered dead at the residence of a retired Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sub-inspector, with a gunshot wound. This information was confirmed by local police.
The victim's family suspects that he was murdered due to jealousy over a romantic relationship. However, authorities suggest that financial disputes might also be a factor in the incident. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Sukadev Singh, who was shot with his own licensed revolver.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Dahiya, initial investigations indicate that the case may involve financial transactions. Despite this, the family maintains that the motive was related to a love affair, and the police are probing the exact cause of the shooting.
Reports indicate that Sukadev frequently visited the home of retired CISF sub-inspector Puran Singh, where he conducted coaching classes. Sukadev's father, Harjinder Singh, alleged that Puran suspected his son of having an affair with his daughter and had been harassing him over the phone. He claimed that Puran lured his son to his home and orchestrated the murder.
Conversely, Puran Singh asserted that Sukadev drew his revolver in anger and fired a shot, which accidentally hit his wife. Following this, Sukadev reportedly shot himself in the chest. Police have stated that Gurmeet Kaur, Puran's wife, has been hospitalized, and the revolver used in the incident has been confiscated.
Authorities noted that one bullet passed through the victim's chest and struck the wall. Dahiya confirmed that based on Sukadev's father's complaint, a murder case has been filed against Puran Singh and his wife, and the retired CISF sub-inspector is currently in custody.
