A shocking incident unfolded in Noida's Sector 12 on Wednesday afternoon when a man was reportedly shot dead inside a rented apartment, according to police reports. The victim has been identified as Ompal Singh, originally from Bulandshahr.

Investigations by the police revealed that Singh had visited the apartment on Tuesday to finalize the rental agreement. On Wednesday, he returned to pay the token amount for possession. While he was cleaning the flat, a friend arrived, leading to a confrontation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Yamuna Prasad, stated that during the cleaning process, an argument escalated, resulting in the friend shooting Singh. The sound of the gunfire alerted the landlord and nearby residents, who rushed to the scene, but the shooter managed to escape, leaving behind his motorcycle.

Upon receiving a call on the emergency helpline, Noida police quickly arrived at the location to secure the crime scene. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered at the Sector 24 police station. The investigation is ongoing.
