Jaunpur. A shocking incident unfolded on Friday evening in the Khetasarai area of Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, where a 27-year-old groom was shot dead in broad daylight while heading to his wedding. This tragic event has caused chaos in the wedding household and instilled fear in the local community.
Gunfire Erupts Amidst Wedding Celebrations
The deceased has been identified as Azad Bind, a resident of Badur village in the Sarai Khwaja area. Azad was on his way to Khetasarai with his wedding procession when, around 7 PM, masked assailants on a motorcycle overtook the groom's vehicle and opened fire.
Life Lost Before Reaching Hospital
The scene turned chaotic following the gunfire. Family members and wedding guests rushed the critically injured Azad to the district hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. The attackers managed to flee the scene.
Motive Behind the Murder Revealed
SSP Kunwar Anupam Singh disclosed that the murder was not motivated by enmity or robbery, but rather stemmed from family disputes. The main suspect is a relative of the bride, identified as Pradeep Bind, who was unhappy about the marriage.
Police Response and Investigation
Police Superintendent Ayush Srivastava stated that the crime scene has been examined, and a case has been registered based on the family's complaint. Multiple police teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects, and raids are ongoing. Authorities are confident that the culprits will soon be behind bars.
