Fatal Road Mishaps in Karnataka


Bengaluru: In a series of tragic road accidents in Karnataka's Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts, seven individuals lost their lives, including four family members returning from a visit to the Tirupati temple on Monday.


The first incident involved a car carrying four pilgrims from Bengaluru, which reportedly lost control and overturned near Dodda Kari village in KGF taluk on the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway.


The victims have been identified as Sharadamma, 70, Deekshita, 25, Devendra Kumar, 41, and Jishnu, 13, all residents of Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru.


The family had traveled to Tirupati for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara and were on their way back when the accident occurred. Their Toyota vehicle hit the median before flipping over, resulting in the immediate deaths of the four occupants.


Three other passengers, Vikas, Neethu, and Advika, suffered injuries and were taken to Bangarpet government hospital for medical attention.


Authorities have filed a case at the Bethamangala Police Station, and an investigation is currently in progress.


In a separate incident in Chikkaballapur district, three women tragically lost their lives when an Omni car transporting agricultural workers collided with a mini goods vehicle near Kothanur Gate in Shidlaghatta taluk.


The accident occurred while ten labourers from Mallikarjunapura village were being driven by Ramachandrappa to Hujuguru village for flower harvesting.


The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of three women from Mallikarjunapura, while several others were injured and transported to Shidlaghatta Taluk Hospital for treatment.


A case has also been registered at the Shidlaghatta Rural Police Station regarding this incident.


These two separate accidents have resulted in a total of seven fatalities and numerous injuries across the two districts.
