Tragic Road Accidents Claim Lives in Bihar
Fatal Incident on Mokama-Bakhtiyarpur Highway

Patna, Sep 8: A devastating road accident on the Mokama-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane highway in Bihar resulted in the deaths of three individuals on Tuesday. The incident occurred when a speeding vehicle lost control and crashed into a road divider, according to police reports.
The car was en route from Patna to Khagaria at the time of the accident.
Initial investigations indicate that the driver lost control due to excessive speed, leading to the collision with the divider.
The force of the impact trapped all three passengers inside the vehicle. Local villagers and passersby, alerted by the sound of the crash, quickly arrived to assist in the rescue.
As the car doors were jammed, residents procured a cutter to access the trapped individuals and successfully freed them. A police team from the Mokama station arrived shortly after being notified of the incident.
With the help of locals, the injured were transported to the Mokama Trauma Centre, but unfortunately, all three were pronounced dead upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as Pawan Gupta, Sulochana Devi, and the driver, Md Salman, all hailing from Khagaria. Authorities have taken possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations.
The families of the victims were notified once their identities were confirmed.
Preliminary findings suggest that high speed and loss of control were the primary factors contributing to the accident. Police are continuing to investigate other potential causes.
The news of the fatalities has left the families in profound sorrow, with relatives expressing their inconsolable grief. The community is enveloped in mourning following this tragic event.
Bus Overturns in West Champaran District
In a separate incident, two women sustained injuries when a passenger bus lost control and overturned in West Champaran district on Tuesday morning.
This accident took place near Tilanghi Bahuarwa village in the Mainatand block, under the jurisdiction of the Purushottampur police station.
The bus was traveling from Pidadi to Bettiah with numerous passengers on board. As it approached Tilanghi Bahuarwa village, the vehicle suddenly veered off course and overturned, causing panic among those inside.
Local villagers, hearing the chaos, rushed to the scene to assist in rescuing the passengers from the overturned bus.
The Purushottampur police were alerted, and a team was dispatched to the location to conduct relief and rescue operations.
The injured women have been identified as 60-year-old Phulpati Devi, the wife of Ramanand Sah from Sakraul village, and 48-year-old Salma Nisha, the wife of Shakirjan Miyan from Purainiya village.
