Tragic Road Accident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Claims Three Lives
Devastating Collision Near Kota
On March 18, a tragic road incident unfolded on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway close to Balapura in Kota, leading to the unfortunate deaths of three young men traveling in a car. The collision was so severe that the vehicle was utterly destroyed, creating a scene filled with chaos and distress.
Reports indicate that the trio, identified as Siddhant (21), Kunal (25), and Mayureva (23), were on a journey from Ladakh to Mumbai in an SUV. All three hailed from Pune.
Officials stated that the vehicle lost control near Thumda, roughly five kilometers from Balapura. The driver, unable to manage the speed, crashed through the median and fell nearly 30 feet.
The force of the impact caused catastrophic damage to the car. The area was filled with screams and pleas for assistance. Bystanders quickly notified the authorities and called for medical help.
With the help of local residents, the victims were extracted from the wreckage, but unfortunately, all three had already succumbed to their injuries. Police arrived shortly after being alerted, took possession of the bodies, and arranged for post-mortem examinations.
Initial investigations point to speeding and loss of control as the main factors contributing to the accident. Authorities are continuing their inquiries and are in the process of notifying the victims' families.
Manoj Sikarwar, the SHO of Kaithoon Police Station, confirmed that Siddhant, Kunal, and Mayureva were returning to Pune in a Fortuner SUV.
The group had set off for a trip to Leh-Ladakh on February 26, traveling with a total of ten members, with others following in separate vehicles.
After the crash, local residents transported the injured individuals to the Kaithoon Community Health Centre (CHC). Dr. Rajesh Samar, the facility's in-charge, reported that the victims had passed away before reaching the hospital. Their remains are currently in the mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
