Tragic Road Accident in Rajasthan Claims 11 Lives, Including Seven Children
Fatal Collision in Dausa District
In the early hours of Wednesday, a pickup truck collided with a stationary lorry in Dausa district, Rajasthan, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals, among whom were seven children. Eight others sustained injuries, as reported by local authorities.
The victims were returning to their village in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, after visiting the Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temples when the incident occurred on the Manoharpur highway around 4 to 5 AM, according to Dausa Superintendent of Police, Sagar.
The deceased included seven children and four women. Officials have identified the victims as Poorvi (3), Daksh (12), Seema (25), Priyanka (25), Anshu (26), Saurabh (28), and Sheela (35).
At the time of the accident, there were 20 passengers in the pickup truck, which crashed into the parked truck in the service lane. One of the injured individuals is reported to be in critical condition.
Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, expressed his condolences regarding the tragic loss of life. In a social media statement, he described the incident as extremely sorrowful and directed the district administration to ensure that the injured receive immediate and adequate medical care. He also offered prayers for the deceased and wished for a swift recovery for the injured.
Sharma has ordered officials to make necessary arrangements for the treatment of those injured in the accident.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other political leaders have also conveyed their sympathies over this unfortunate event.
