Fatal Incident in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, January 7, 2026: A devastating road accident occurred in Gorakhpur district, Uttar Pradesh, amidst severe cold conditions. A speeding Scorpio vehicle struck three individuals who were warming themselves by a roadside bonfire, resulting in their immediate and tragic deaths.

According to police reports, the incident took place around 11 PM when several people were gathered around a bonfire to escape the cold. Suddenly, an out-of-control Scorpio hit them. The impact was so severe that the victims were thrown several feet away, suffering fatal injuries.

The deceased have been identified as local residents Ramu (45), Shyamlal (50), and Vipin (38). All three were laborers who had sought warmth by the fire. Following the accident, the driver of the Scorpio fled the scene. Authorities have seized the vehicle and initiated a manhunt for the driver.

Police arrived at the scene, sending the bodies for post-mortem examination and launching an investigation into the incident. Local residents expressed their outrage, demanding strict action against reckless drivers.
