In a heartbreaking incident late at night, a severe road accident occurred on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. A pickup truck carrying pilgrims returning from Gogamedi in Rajasthan lost control, collided with the divider near Baragaon, and overturned. Reports indicate that this tragic event resulted in the deaths of six individuals, while 27 others sustained injuries.

Pilgrims Returning from Gogamedi

According to sources, the pickup truck was transporting approximately 32 pilgrims who were returning to their village in Badaun district after visiting Gogamedi. The accident took place around 12:30 AM as they approached Baragaon.

Collision with the Divider

It has been reported that the pickup suddenly became uncontrollable and crashed into the expressway's divider, leading to the vehicle flipping over. The scene was chaotic following the accident.

Some reports suggest that the pickup may have collided with a canter, and the police are currently investigating the matter to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Casualties and Injuries

The accident has resulted in the unfortunate loss of six pilgrims, with 27 others reported injured. Among the injured, several individuals are said to be in critical condition.
