Father and Son Die in Road Tragedy
A heartbreaking incident occurred in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where a 36-year-old man and his nine-year-old son lost their lives in a road accident on the morning of June 13.
Reports indicate that the victims were struck by a speeding tipper truck near Saravanampatti. The deceased have been identified as Rajesh and his son, R Vinith.
According to local authorities, Rajesh was working for an IT company in Keeranatham and resided with his wife and two sons in an apartment. The tragic event unfolded around 5 AM while Rajesh was transporting his son to a skating academy on his motorcycle.
As Rajesh made a left turn onto Kalapatti Road, the truck also turned left and collided with them from behind, causing both to fall onto the road and come under the truck's front wheel.
Emergency services were alerted, and police arrived promptly to the scene, subsequently sending the bodies for postmortem examination.
Another Accident in Pune Involves Truck and Scooter
In a separate incident on June 12, a 29-year-old woman was killed, and her father-in-law was injured when a truck collided with their scooter at Gangadham Chowk in Pune.
A police spokesperson detailed that the accident took place around 11:15 AM when a truck with registration number MH 14 AS 8852 hit the scooter from behind as it moved forward after the traffic signal turned green.
Jagdish Pannalal Soni, aged 61, was riding the scooter with his daughter-in-law, Dipali Yuvraj Soni, who was seated behind.
The truck impacted the scooter from the rear and side, resulting in Dipali's immediate death. Jagdish was transported to Spiral Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have seized the truck, and the driver, Shaukat Ali Papalal Kulkundi, aged 51, has been apprehended. A medical examination of the driver is currently in progress.
