Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Bride and Five Others Near Jaipur
Fatal Collision During Wedding Procession
An 18-year-old bride, Bharti, was sent off by her mother with a heavy heart, but tragically, she will never return to her parental home. The wedding procession was cut short when Bharti lost her life en route to her in-laws' house, along with five others. This devastating incident occurred on Wednesday morning near Jaipur, resulting in the deaths of a woman and five others, with eight additional individuals sustaining injuries, according to police reports.
Raghubir Singh, the station officer from Raysar, stated that the accident took place around 6:15 AM on the Dausa-Manoharpur highway, near the village of Bhatkabass, when a truck collided head-on with a jeep. The jeep was carrying wedding guests returning from Madhya Pradesh.
Singh confirmed that the collision resulted in the deaths of the bride and four others, while eight individuals were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The impact was so severe that the wedding vehicle was completely wrecked, trapping the occupants inside. Rescuers worked diligently to free the victims from the wreckage.
Following the accident, traffic on the highway came to a standstill, causing chaos in the area. The wedding party was returning to Udaypurwati in Jhunjhunu from Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh.
Victims Identified and Response from Authorities
Police reported that the bride, Bharti, hailed from the village of Mandoli in Shahdol. The groom, Vikram Meena, aged 25, from Udaypurwati, was seriously injured and has been admitted to a private hospital along with other critically injured passengers. The identities of the other deceased have been confirmed as Jitu (33), Subhash (28), and Ravi Kumar (17).
Authorities are currently working to identify one additional victim. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his condolences regarding the tragic accident. He shared his sorrow on social media, stating that the news of loss of life in the severe road accident on the Dausa-Manoharpur highway in Jaipur is deeply saddening. He has instructed district administration officials to ensure prompt medical treatment for the injured.
