Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives in Rajasthan's Dausa-Karauli Border

Fatal Incident at Dausa-Karauli Border

A severe road accident occurred on Friday in the Lankha (Ukali) valley at the Dausa-Karauli border in Rajasthan. A tractor-trailer loaded with iron rods lost control while ascending a slope and overturned. The incident was so catastrophic that a woman and her young son, who were passengers in the tractor, died instantly, while the woman's husband sustained serious injuries. The driver is also reported to be injured.

Details of the Accident

According to initial reports, the tractor-trailer was transporting a significant load of iron rods when it lost balance and flipped over. The heavy rods and the tractor itself trapped the entire family underneath. Local residents quickly initiated rescue efforts and alerted the authorities.

Identities of the Victims

The deceased have been identified as:

• Usha Devi (30 years old)


• Suraj (9 years old)

Both were residents of Chiravanda village in the Garhmora police station area of Karauli district.

Husband's Condition Critical

The husband of the deceased, Sonu Mahawar (35 years old), suffered severe injuries. He was initially taken to the district hospital for treatment, but due to the seriousness of his condition, he was referred to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur. The tractor driver, Rameshwar Gurjar, also sustained injuries in the accident.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon receiving news of the incident, the local police arrived at the scene. With the assistance of nearby villagers, they managed to rescue those trapped under the tractor and the iron rods.

The police have placed both bodies in the mortuary of the district hospital and have commenced an investigation into the cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle's balance was compromised due to the heavy load while navigating the slope.

The tragic loss of a mother and son from the same family has cast a pall of grief over the entire Chiravanda village. The family members are devastated and are mourning their loss.
