Fatal Incident in Himachal Pradesh

A devastating road accident in Himachal Pradesh has resulted in the death of a young man from Rajasthan. The incident occurred in the Lahaul-Spiti district, where a speeding Scorpio lost control and crashed through iron barricades near the North Portal of the Atal Tunnel, ultimately becoming lodged in the iron rods of a concrete pillar of an under-construction bridge. Had the vehicle not become stuck, it would have plunged hundreds of feet into the Chandra (Chandrabhaaga) River below, leaving little chance for survival for the passengers.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Kailash Kumar from Mandota village in the Sikar district, died at the scene. Three others, Rajendra from Sikar, Siddharth Singh Shekhawat from Khatushyamji, and Aditya from Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, sustained serious injuries and were rescued and taken to a hospital in Manali for treatment.
