Tragic Road Accident Claims Four Lives in Himachal Pradesh
Fatal Collision in Punjab
In a heartbreaking incident early Saturday morning, four individuals from the Gagret subdivision in Himachal Pradesh lost their lives in a severe road accident near Adda Dosadka, located in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district. One other person was critically injured in the crash.
The victims have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh (45), Sushil Kumar (46), Brij Kumar (38), and Arun Kumar (45), all hailing from Challet village in the Gagret area.
Amit Kumar, another passenger traveling with them, suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital in Hoshiarpur, where his condition is reported to be critical.
The group had departed from their village around 4:30 AM in a Hyundai i-20 car, heading towards Amritsar International Airport, as Amit Kumar was set to board a flight to Dubai.
Their vehicle collided head-on with a Punjab Roadways bus coming from Dasuya. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the force of the impact was so great that the bus dragged the car for nearly 200 meters, resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle.
It is believed that dense fog in the area during the early morning hours played a significant role in the accident.
Upon receiving the news, local police quickly arrived at the scene to conduct a rescue operation. The deceased were extracted from the wreckage and transported to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Local leaders, including BJP representative Sushil Kalia and former Gagret MLA Rajesh Thakur, expressed their sorrow over the tragic event. They extended their condolences to the families affected and wished for a swift recovery for the injured Amit Kumar.
This tragic event has brought a wave of sadness over Challet village and the broader Gagret region, where the victims were well-known members of the community.
