Tragic Plane Crash in Ahmedabad Claims All Lives Onboard

Devastating Incident Near Ahmedabad Airport
A tragic accident involving an Air India flight has resulted in the loss of all 242 passengers and crew members. The aircraft, which was en route to London, crashed in Meghaniganj, close to Ahmedabad Airport, on Thursday afternoon. Thick smoke was observed rising from the airport premises. According to reports, Police Commissioner G.S. Malik indicated that it appears no survivors emerged from the crash. In response to the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has communicated with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Home Minister, and the Police Commissioner, assuring them of the central government's support.
Following the crash of the Air India flight, all operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport have been temporarily suspended. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also reached out to Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, instructing them to travel to Ahmedabad and provide all possible assistance to those affected by the aviation disaster.
List of Injured Released
The Ahmedabad police have released a list of 25 individuals injured in the plane crash. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Gujarat Health Department stated that the student hostel, staff quarters, and other residential areas of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital are located in the vicinity of the crash site. Approximately 50 injured individuals have been admitted to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. Air India has established a hotline for foreign nationals, in addition to the dedicated passenger hotline number 1800 5691 444, they have introduced another hotline number +91 8062779200 for international travelers.
Request for DNA Samples
The Gujarat government has urged the families of those onboard to provide DNA samples for the identification of the deceased. The severity of the crash has made it challenging to identify several bodies. Many local residents were also injured in the incident and are currently receiving treatment. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the civil hospital in Asarwa, Ahmedabad, where the injured are being treated, and spoke with the victims.
