Sunjay Kapur's Untimely Passing

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Sunjay Kapur, the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, has reportedly passed away. The news was shared by businessman and author Suhel Seth, who was a close friend of Kapur, via social media.

On Thursday, Suhel expressed his sorrow on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, “Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues @sonacomstar …Om Shanti.”

Reports indicate that Sunjay Kapur died from a heart attack. He was known as an industrialist and served as the CEO of Sixt India. Sunjay was previously married to Karisma, with whom he shared two children: a daughter named Samaira and a son named Kiaan.

The couple tied the knot on September 29, 2003, in a lavish Sikh ceremony at Karisma's family home in Mumbai. However, they filed for divorce by mutual consent in 2014, although they later attempted to withdraw their application. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.

Before marrying Sunjay, Karisma was engaged to Abhishek Bachchan in 2002, but their engagement ended after a few months without any public explanation.

In 2016, Karisma filed a domestic violence complaint against Sunjay and his mother, alleging physical abuse and claiming that Sunjay was involved with another woman. This led to a summons from the Mumbai police amid their contentious divorce and custody dispute.

Sunjay Kapur later remarried Priya Sachdev.
